Remains of U.S. submarine innovator exhumed in Panama
The remains of a German-American who invented the first submarine able to dive and resurface by itself were exhumed in a Panamanian cemetery Thursday and will be reburied alongside U.S. war veterans near the Panama Canal.
Julius Kroehl’s remains were dug up with help from the U.S. Embassy, which said authorities will also seek to confirm the identity of the remains and establish a cause of death.
Kroehl built his submarine from parts brought from New York to search for pearls off Panama’s Pacific coast during the 19th century.

Panama shock Mexico, USA stay perfect.
Panama are one step away from maiden FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ qualification after a stunning 2-0 win eliminated Mexico from the CONCACAF Women’s Championship in Cary on Wednesday.
Mexico had the better of the first half but Panama’s teenage goalkeeper Yenith Bailey was once again in inspired form, crucially saving a penalty in the dying moments of the opening period.
The match turned immediately after the restart as Karla Riley fired home a high-quality volley to give Panama the advantage. That left Mexico chasing the game and the Central Americans put the contest out of sight thanks to Lineth Cedeno’s strike in the latter stages.

Air France boosts Panama-Paris flights.
Air France will offer a new flight between Paris and Panama City from October 29, which will bring to seven the flights operated by the French airline each week.
“The daily flight of Air France between Panama City and Paris-Charles de Gaulle complements the daily flight from KLM to Amsterdam-Schiphol on the Boeing 777, “said Panama’s Tourism authority. (ATP).
Tocumen International Airport serves Panama City and with 400 daily flights, more than 80 destinations and a passenger traffic of 15.6 million in 2017, it is one of the main terminals of connections in Latin America, according to official data, tourism in Panama has been shrinking , putting stress on hotels and restaurants and leading to thousands of job losses.

“Fiestas Patrias” in Panama: November is a month of celebration
If you’ve ever experienced the month of November in Panama, you know that it is unlike any other month of the year when it comes to experience. November is the “mes de la patria”, or “patriotic month” in English, where most of the country’s non-religious national holidays are held.
